A Christmassy Winter Wedding

I was lucky enough to design some wedding stationery for the lovely Nat and Josh. Covid may have delayed their wedding but it didn't stop them having a beautiful December celebration filled with elegant sparkle. Here's a few of the bespoke items I designed for them.

Invitations

Nat & Josh's layered invitations were dreamy to design. Two layers of textured paper with all the guest information hand lettered in black ink. Followed by a lovely photograph of the couple with a translucent vellum layer on top. Vellum paper provides an elegance to the invite and is proving to be a popular paper choice for wedding stationery. The gold lettering on the vellum added a christmassy glow to the invite and showed off the important information (names, date and venue). All tied together in the top right corner with golden ribbon...I love how the different layers fan out!

Signage

I'm a big fan of designing larger stationery items. Wooden pallet signs are a great way to display information in your wedding venues. Particularly in a rustic barn setting the wooden signs really fit in well. The white lettering for this welcome sign stands out beautifully against the dark varnish on the wood. Combined with a white and gold illustrated order of the day timeline.

Another Large pallet sign to match displayed a seating plan. It was a fantastic way to show guests to their seats and I had lots of fun creating it. Horizontal string with mini pegs to hold up each golden table list. The added couple photo to go with every table name location really personalised the design and is a great conversation starter! Can I also point out how stunning those easels are! Wedding venues often have easels you can borrow to display signage.

Table Decor

Finally some simple elegant white and gold stationery items to add to their wedding tables. The table names were hand lettered in gold on white textured card to add a shimmer to the tables. The A6 cards were placed on mini wooden easels to stand them up next to the cute Christmas tree centre pieces.

Guests like to know where they are sitting and there are lots of different ideas out their for name places. But these matching name cards were the perfect addition for Nat and Josh's tables. Folded white textured card, again with gold lettering and a gold border to add a shimmer to the tables. Standing alongside the gold crackers and beautiful glassware.

It was so lovely to create these bespoke items for Nat & Josh. If you'd like to see more of ICillustrations wedding designs, check out the wedding section on my website...

Here's what Nat and Josh had to say about their wedding stationery...

"Iona went above & beyond in creating a beautiful display for our special day. We loved everything she did & we’re amazed at all the intricate details within the designs, from the stunning wedding invitations to the “story telling” table plan of our relationship - we couldn’t have been happier. Thank you Iona"
