Elegant navy and white.
It was great working with Bry and Tim on their wedding stationery. Bringing to life their multicultural ideas combining the US and the UK was a lovely experience. Here's a little look at their bespoke wedding stationery for before and on their big day...
Before the Day
First on their list was to set the scene and send out their save the dates. This navy mountain theme was carried out throughout the rest of their stationery along with the sophisticated typeface. Lake Louise is such a beautiful spot and illustrating it made me want to pay a visit! A meaningful location to have on their wedding stationery.
Next on the list was their invitations! Once they had all the timing and venue information we worked together to design these multiple insert invitations. An A5 insert with all the key info and Lake Louise illustration, an A6 extra details insert, a little A6 map (one of my favourite pieces of their collection - I'll chat more about this later) and an A7 RSVP insert. They had lots of people travelling from America to the UK for their wedding so it was important to have everything their guests needed to know about their big day all in one envelope. I love the way their photographer has captured some of the stationery in this image (La Vie En Rose Wedding Photographers).
Signage
Bry and Tim added lots of beautiful signage to their wedding venue. A favourite was this illustrated map (included with the invites) of all their adventures in Cumbria. Hiking, kayaking, hang out spots, foody places... all locations they included on the map. It really added a personal touch and fit in so well for a wedding based in the heart of Cumbria. Other signage included a blue seating plan. They knew they would have lots of last minute changes to their seating, so we came up with a customisable design that could be edited right up until the day before. Their bespoke drinks sign look great on their hand made bar! I had fun illustrating the little signature cocktails they had in store for their guests. A large order of the day sign and menu board also featured in their wedding marquee.
Table Decor
Keeping in line with their navy and white theme these table decor extras looked great alongside the summer flowers and blue table candles. Personalised crosswords and name places printed on textured floral paper - This paper was dreamy, I'll definitely be using it again! A great puzzle to have on the tables to entertain guests and spark conversation. The illustrated table names fitted in so well. Places from all over the Lake District and America to name the tables and help guests find their seats was a perfect addition to the table decor. They made a lovely keepsake after the wedding too; for the couple to have illustrations of all their favourite spots up in their home.
Order of Service
Simple, but they do the job! Bry and Tim opted for on theme, single sheet order of services to take their guests through their ceremony. A little illustration of the beautiful St.Kentigern's Church finished off these order of services nicely. Drawings of wedding venues and ceremony locations are becoming more and more popular. I think it's a lovely little memory to have of such a special occasion.
Something Extra
A stunning idea from the groom. A personalised gift for the bride to give to her on their wedding day. Little maps of their journey so far in love hearts in chronological order. This thoughtful gift was a joy to illustrate. Taking the time to think up unique ideas like this is what can really add that extra spark to your wedding experience. A beautiful piece to have up in their home too.
I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of designing Bry and Tims stationery. So many beautiful ideas and pieces to remember such a special occasion. If you'd like to see more of ICillustrations wedding designs, check out the wedding section on my website...
Here's what Bry and Tim had to say about their wedding stationery...
"Lovely to work with Iona on our wedding stationery. She created beautiful designs for us and was very accommodating on our last minute requests."
